Forestry ETS advice and carbon credit management for New Zealand forest owners

ETS Advice & Carbon Credit Trading

We provide practical advice and management for forest owners participating in the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). Whether you are considering registering a forest, already have land in the ETS, or need assistance understanding your carbon position, we can help you work through the process.

Our ETS services include forest eligibility and registration advice, carbon accounting, emissions returns, Carbon Accounting Area management, NZU generation and carbon credit sales. We can also assist with ETS matters when forestry land is being bought, sold, harvested or transferred between owners.

We work with both farmers and forest owners to help make the ETS easier to understand and provide practical advice based on the individual forest and landowner's objectives.

Forest Establishment

Considering planting trees on your property? We can help plan and manage the establishment process from the initial assessment through to planting and early forest management.

Our establishment services include site assessments, species selection, planting plans, establishment budgets, plant ordering, contractor coordination, planting management, weed control and follow-up inspections.

Good establishment is important to the long-term performance of a forest. We work with landowners to develop a practical planting programme suited to the property, intended land use and long-term objectives, whether establishing a commercial forest, native planting or another forestry project.

Forest Management

We provide practical forest management services throughout Waikato, King Country and the Central North Island, working with both small woodlots and larger forestry blocks.

Our management services cover the full forestry cycle, including forest inspections, silviculture planning, pruning and thinning programmes, forest health monitoring, contractor coordination, budgeting and ongoing management.

Every forest is different, so our approach is based on the condition of the forest, the landowner's objectives and the long-term value of the crop. We can manage individual forestry operations or provide ongoing management from establishment through to harvest.

Harvest Planning

Harvesting is one of the most important stages in the forestry cycle. We assist forest owners with planning and coordinating the harvest process to help ensure it is well organised and the forest is appropriately marketed.

Our services can include assessing the forest prior to harvest, harvest planning, obtaining market information, coordinating forestry contractors and forest marketing. We can also assist with the wider management requirements associated with harvesting and the transition into the next rotation.

Our role is to help landowners understand their options and provide practical support throughout the process, from the early planning stages through to completion of the harvest.
